The crankshaft is the core of every diesel engine, converting linear piston force into rotational motion. It endures extreme pressures, high RPMs, and continuous loading – especially in industrial, agricultural, marine, and commercial diesel platforms. Over time, wear, oil starvation, bearing failure, and heat stress can compromise crankshaft integrity. That’s where our crankshaft grinding and repair service comes in.
We restore damaged or worn crankshafts to precise OEM tolerances or custom rebuild specifications using precision grinding, welding, and inspection processes. Our facility handles crankshafts from small displacement engines up to large-bore diesels used in power generation and heavy equipment.
Diesel crankshafts should be serviced when any of the following issues are present:
If not corrected, these issues can cause catastrophic engine damage, reduce oil flow, and lead to vibration-related failures in connected components.

Every crankshaft is visually inspected, dimensionally checked, and tested for surface and sub-surface cracks using magnetic particle inspection (Magnaflux).
Crankshafts that are bent or twisted are hydraulically straightened to bring them within factory straightness tolerances.
We precision grind rod and main journals to match specified undersizes, restoring journal roundness, surface finish, and radius integrity. Special attention is paid to oil holes, chamfers, and surface roughness.
If journals are severely worn or gouged, we offer journal welding to build material back up before final grinding.
Journals are polished to a mirror-like finish that supports proper oil film retention and reduces bearing friction.
For performance or large crankshafts, we offer dynamic balancing to ensure smooth operation and reduce harmonic vibration.
Our honing and block repair services cover a broad
range of diesel platforms:

Light-duty diesel trucks and vans

Tractors, combines, irrigation engines

Loaders, compressors, welders, and pumps

Propulsion and auxiliary diesel engines

Medium- and heavy-duty truck engines

Prime and standby generator engines
Diesel engines demand tight tolerances to ensure proper oil clearance and load distribution between crank journals and bearings. Poor grinding can result in oil starvation, premature bearing wear, or structural failure. Our shop uses industrial-grade crankshaft grinders and proven setups to ensure every journal is round, smooth, and within spec.

With more than 40 years of diesel machining expertise, we understand the physical demands diesel engines face — and the machining precision they require to perform. Our investment in CNC honing and in-house block repair capabilities allows us to restore engines faster, more accurately, and more reliably.
We’re not just rebuilding blocks — we’re rebuilding confidence in your equipment, one cylinder at a time.
